Commencement Day

The 56th Annual Commencement Ceremony will be held on May 10, 2024 at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion in Camden, NJ.

Commencement starts promptly at 12:00 p.m.

About the Venue

The Freedom Mortgage Pavilion offers an enclosed, climate-controlled theater for up to 7,000 people, making commencement as comfortable as it is exciting. This venue will allow the family, friends, and loved ones of our Graduates to have an unobstructed view of the stage during this monumental moment. Graduates will have their names read aloud as they walk across the stage of the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion.

What time do the graduates need to arrive for the academic procession?

Degree candidates should report at 9:30 am at the Benjamin Franklin Lobby at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion. Graduates will check in and be directed to their academic division and your CCC volunteer will provide guidance on where to stand.
Student who arrive late for the 12:00 p.m. ceremony will be denied entrance to participate in the ceremony. Be early!!!

From the East

Take exit 4 from the NJ Turnpike and exit onto Route 73N. Drive 1/2 mile to Route 295 South. Take Rt 295 South. Take Rt 295 S to signs for the Ben Franklin Bridge/ Route 676. Take Rt 676 to exit 4 (Atlantic Avenue) or 5A (Mickle Blvd). Follow signs to Freedom Mortgage Pavilion.

From the West

Follow signs for the Ben Franklin Bridge from I-95, I-76, and I-676. After exiting the bridge tolls in Camden, stay to the right and follow signs to I-676 and take exit 4 (Atlantic Avenue) or 5A (Mickle Blvd). Follow signs to Freedom Mortgage Pavilion.

From the South

From Interstate 95:
From points South:

Follow I-95 North towards Philadelphia then follow signs for I-676 East and the Benjamin Franklin Bridge/Camden. Follow directions from Philadelphia.

From the North

From points North:
Follow I-95 South towards Philadelphia and use exit for Historic Area. (Second and Callowhill Streets); follow Callowhill Street to Sixth Street and from there follow signs for Ben Franklin Bridge/Camden. Follow signs at bridge tolls for I-676. Take I-676 to Mickle Blvd exit 5A and follow signs to Camden Waterfront.

Is there Free parking at the Freedom Mortgage Pavilion?

The venue has free parking available to those attending commencement. Students and guests may also utilize the NJ Transit River Line if needed.

Do guests need tickets to attend Commencement?

There are no tickets required for entrance into Commencement. Seating is on a first come, first served basis.

How can I participate in the 2024 Commencement Ceremony?

Potential Graduates would have been sent a letter to complete a graduation packet with their faculty advisor or Advisement Center staff. While completing the Graduation packet process, potential Graduates will indicate if they are walking in the ceremony.

What is the Graduation Ceremony like for graduates and guests?

During the ceremony, graduates will have their names read and have the opportunity to walk across the stage to be congratulated by President and platform party. Degrees will be conferred by major. When it is time for you to walk, Faculty/Public Safety will start to guide each row of graduates to the stage.
The ceremony is expected to last approximately two and a half hours. The center is not climate controlled and may be cool when the outside temperatures are below 60 degrees, so graduates please dress appropriately.
We ask that you behave courteously toward other graduates and do not leave the ceremony early. No air horns, balloons or any disruptive noisemakers will be permitted. All graduates are expected to remain until the end of the ceremony.

Will the event be livestreamed if I have guests who can't attend the ceremony?

The ceremony will be livestreamed and posted on www.camdencc.edu/graduation

What if a Graduate needs an accommodation for the ceremony?

Special Accommodations: Graduates who have special needs as mobility restrictions and require special accommodations should contact The Accessibility Center at accessibilityservice@camdencc.edu with the subject line “Commencement-Graduate Accommodations

Should I attend the Commencement Rehearsal and Graduation Picnic?

It is strongly suggested that graduates participate in the Commencement Rehearsal on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dennis Flyer Theater to practice and walk through the Commencement Day agenda.

A Graduation Picnic will be held immediately following the Commencement Rehearsal. Graduates should celebrate with your fellow graduates in the Wilson Courtyard on May 9, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. for a free picnic with your classmates, faculty and staff to celebrate the Class of 2024!

How do I purchase my Cap, Gown, and Tassel?

Graduation regalia can be purchased, in person, at the bookstore in Blackwood, or Camden starting on April 2, 2024. Please visit our Bookstores’ webpage to view the operating hours of each location: www.camdencc.edu/student_life/bookstores/
Cost of Cap & Gown Set is $56.00 at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore at either campus.

Where do I obtain honor society stoles or cords?

Please email your Honor Society Advisor for updates on how to pre-purchase regalia before the event. Honor stoles are not available to purchase on Commencement Day.

Can I decorate my cap? Where can I send photos of my decorated cap?

All graduates are encouraged to decorate your caps and share them with your fellow grads. Celebrate your message to all graduates, friends and family! Please make sure they have positive messaging for all see.

What should I wear to the Commencement?

The official dress regalia is cap and gown. Graduates are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes since they will be standing for long periods of time before the ceremony. Business casual attire is suggested.

Where can I post photos of my graduation celebration and share stories of my achievements?

Can I make reservations for professional graduation photos?

How can I run for the 2024 Alumni Trustee Position?
How do I become part of the CCC Alumni Association?

CCC Alumni Association: CCC graduates are automatically members of the CCC Alumni Association. There are no membership dues to pay.

Where do I submit my graduation application?

Applications can be completed online through your Student Portal/Self Service.

To ensure your name appears in the official commencement brochure list, the graduation application must be submitted by Wednesday, March 15, 2024.

When do I receive my diploma?

Diplomas are ordered after applications are approved by the College’s Registrar. Once the order is sent to the Vendor, it takes approximately 7 weeks. After the diplomas are received you will receive an email notification and it will be posted on the website commencement page and social media.
Note: August 2024 graduates will receive an email when their diploma is ready for pickup sometime in October.
