NJBIA Basic Skills Training

Now in its 9th year, NJBIA Basic Skills Training has been made available through a partnership between the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development, and the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Requirements:

To attend this free training, you must be currently employed in the state of New Jersey. Public employees and those who are unemployed, are not eligible to participate.

Training programs include:
  • PC Skills – Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Communications – Verbal & Written
  • Customer Service
  • English as a Second Language
  • Spanish in the Workplace
  • Mathematics and Measurement

Open Enrollment Classes

Individuals can attend open enrollment classes with other employers, scheduled at our campus locations.

NJBIA Basic Skills Training

Classes Dedicated for Your Organization

For a dedicated class, a minimum of 10 employees must attend and complete the required hours for each course. Classes can be delivered at your site, or at any of our campus locations. Times and dates are flexible and designed to suit your needs.

Grant Funding is Now Available

Your company may be eligible to receive a Skills4Jersey grant provided by the NJ Department of Labor & Workforce Development to help offset the costs associated with training your workforce. This program is a key component in the Governor’s Economic Growth Strategy and is designed to benefit both employees and employers by enhancing the skills of the workforce, thereby increasing productivity and overall competitiveness of New Jersey’s Business and Industry.

Program Purpose

Skills4Jersey training grant funds are available to New Jersey employers to upgrade the skills of their current employees and/or train new employees, for purposes of retaining highly skilled and high wage jobs in New Jersey.

Application process

As your training partner, we will assess your training needs, develop your training plan, and assist your organization with the application process. In addition a training coordinator will assist you with all aspects of training implementation.
