BRIDGING THE GAP

An innovative partnership between Camden County College and Rutgers University-Camden will allow income-eligible students to graduate from college with little or no debt. The county is the only one in the state to work with the renowned four-year university in offering this program to its residents.

The program called "Bridging the Gap" will transform access to a Rutgers degree by helping New Jersey families dramatically reduce their college cost by waiving tuition in full or by half.

How it Works

Students who earn their associate's degree from Camden County College and plan to transfer to Rutgers University-Camden are eligible for the program. Families with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of $60,000 or less will receive a grant covering all of their tuition and the general campus fee not already covered by federal and/or state grants. Families with an AGI of $60,001 to $100,000 will receive a grant covering 50% of their remaining tuition and the general campus fee after any other need-based federal and/or state grants are applied.

How to Apply

Since participation in the Bridging the Gap program is need-based, completion of the FAFSA is required for this program, which closes the gap between other sources of financial support and the balance of tuition and the campus fee. Rutgers–Camden will then automatically apply the Bridging the Gap program to remaining tuition. CCC students need an earned associate’s degree as well.

Who Can Participate

This program is for residents of New Jersey who earned their associate's degree from Camden County College and are enrolling into a full-time, degree program on the Rutgers University–Camden campus. This program is not transferrable to other Rutgers campuses or off-campus Rutgers programs.

Students must successfully complete 30 credit hours in an academic year and remain in good academic standing in order to be eligible for another year in the program.
