African-American History Month Events Set at Camden County College

 

Camden County College is marking African-American History Month with a series of events throughout February. Participation is free, thanks to sponsorship by the Office of Student Life & Activities and the Urban Unity Club.

 

Scheduled are:

 

● Noon Feb. 16: Screening of the film “Invictus,” which stars Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela and details Mandela’s drive to unite apartheid-torn South Africa by enlisting the national rugby team to win the 1995 World Cup. Light refreshments will be served. Community Room, College Hall, Camden City Campus. Free.

 

● 1 p.m. Feb. 17: “African-American History Jeopardy,” a version of the television game show with prizes. Community Room, College Hall, Camden City Campus. Free.

 

● 1 p.m. Feb. 22: “African-American Trivia Game Show hosted by WDBK 91.5 FM,” an event- and music- themed quiz show with prizes. Cyber Café, second floor, Otto R. Mauke Community Center, Blackwood Campus. Free.
