Commencement Webcast, DVD Planned by Camden County College
The 43rd annual Camden County College commencement will unfold worldwide as the graduation ceremony is broadcast live on the College Web site on May 21. The festivities will be available for later viewing online and on DVD as well.
More than 1,800 associate's degrees and certificates are expected to be conferred during the event. It will take place rain or shine in the Truman Courtyard of the College's Blackwood Campus under an 18,000-square foot event tent.
The ceremony will feature addresses by retiring Camden County College Vice President Sharon N. Wedington, the keynote speaker, and John M. Huhn III, the student speaker. Other highlights will include the presentation of an honorary associate's degree to former Camden County Freeholder Riletta L. Cream and the presentation of the 2011 Outstanding Alumnus Award to Dr. Robert A. Emmons Jr., an award-winning filmmaker and professor.
Audience members as close as across the street and as far away as across the globe will be able to log in at 10 a.m. and watch the processional, the recessional and everything in between as it all unfolds. DVD copies of the broadcast will be available to anyone who makes a donation of $25 or more to the Class of 2011 class gift fund. A limited number of DVDs will be made, and donors must fill out an order form by June 16 to receive their copy.
