"Friends and/or family members are welcome to accompany any prospective student who attends an advisement session," Monturano said. "This allows others to get acquainted with the program and see if it could serve them as well."
The classes, which currently are held at the Rohrer Center and will take place at the Camden City Campus as well this fall, include "English for Beginners," "Everyday English I," "Everyday English II" and "Accent Reduction I." Topics covered include grammar, conversation, reading skills, writing skills, techniques for phrasing, intonation and vowel and consonant pronouncement.
"Classroom guests include medical professionals and those in fields such as insurance," Monturano said. "This gives students an opportunity to ask questions and have group conversations to get them comfortable speaking with members of the public on issues that play a role in daily life."
Cost for the courses, which run through October and November this fall, ranges from $225 to $325 depending on the course.
