Welcome International Students
International Students are welcome at Camden County College. There are almost five hundred F-1 visa students from seventy countries studying career and transfer programs at the College. Our tuition is among the lowest for International Students in the region. Camden County College is also one of the largest colleges in New Jersey, with over fourteen thousand students. We also have the region's largest English as a Second Language program. Each semester, hundreds of students study English and content area classes through our comprehensive ESL program.

 

Camden County College's main campus is located in Blackwood, New Jersey. We also have a campus in Camden, New Jersey, located a short distance from Philadelphia and a campus in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. The main campus is about 20 minutes by car or one hour by public transportation from Philadelphia. Students are able to take advantage of the city's many cultural and educational institutions. In addition, New York is about two hours to the north and Washington DC is approximately two and a half hours to the south. Atlantic City, a popular vacation and casino resort, is only one hour away.

 

If you will be applying for a student visa (F-1), please review the following policy and procedures for international student applications. To ensure you complete all the required documentation, read these instructions carefully.

 

We suggest you collect all of the required documentation prior to submitting your application. If you cannot obtain all the documentation prior to the deadline, you should submit the application and any available documentation before the application deadline and submit any outstanding documents as soon as possible. Please make certain that every piece of supporting documentation has the name of the student printed clearly on each document.

 

Allow at least two weeks for processing your application.

 

In order to be considered for admission, applications and all supporting documentation must be received by the following dates:

 

   Fall semester (Starts in September) – July 1st of same year

   Spring semester (Starts in January) – December 1st of preceding year

 

Documentation required of all applicants who have or will need a student visa:

 

1. Application for Admission (complete all sections)

    Be sure to indicate your intended major on the application.

    Please note: International Students are not eligible for Certificate Programs.

    Additionally, there are a number of selective programs that have special admission's requirements.

 

2. Affidavit of Support

    Camden County College is required by U.S. government regulations to check the availability of adequate funding for your tuition, fees, and   

    living expenses for the duration of your studies.Until all funding documentation has been completed and returned to the Office of International  

    Student Services, we will be unable to provide you with the documents necessary to obtain your visa.

   

There are no scholarship or financial aid opportunities for F-1 students at Camden County College.International Students are expected to pay the full cost of tuition.

 

Declaration of Financial Support – Department of Homeland Security USCIS – Form I-134, Affidavit of Support

 

Sponsors must show they have sufficient income or financial resources to assure that the student they are sponsoring will not become a public charge while in the United States. For the 2014-15 academic year, the financial documentation must show a minimum of $20,544.00 in U.S. dollars available. You may have more than one sponsor but each sponsor must provide an affidavit of support and the following documentation:

 

    Sponsorship

 

1.     Original bank letter written on bank letterhead that includes the specific current amount available in U.S. Dollars. This letter should be in English or accompanied by an official/certified translation. (Bank letters saying "enough"or "sufficient" funds are available or that "the account holder is capable of supporting the student" WILL NOT be accepted.)

 

If a bank statement is in the name of more than one-person, each individual must submit an Affidavit of Support.

 

2.     Original bank statements dated for the past three (3) months. The bank statements should be in English or accompanied by an official/certified translation.

 

3.     Letter from employer, on company letterhead, verifying employment and salary. This letter should be in English or accompanied by an official/certified translation. If the sponsor is self-employed, proof of income may be established by a bank or private accountant.

 

 

   Self-Sponsorship

 

   A student may act as his/her own sponsor if the student can document the immediate availability of sufficient personal funds for two years. At present rates, this 
   would amount to approximately $45,000 USD.

Payment Schedule for International Students

Full payment of tuition and fees is due at the time of registration. Be sure to know your government's regulations regarding foreign exchange and transfer of funds to the United States. Make necessary arrangements before leaving your country to ensure complete funding for the beginning of each term and at regular intervals throughout the year.
